While at Monica's house Jowie kept receiving phone calls where he would speak in coded language. Clearly this guy was receiving instructions from somebody. Why can't they investigate the people he communicated with that day?

Coded language could be anything, from telling someone nitakuvutia wire to ngonja nitakupigia...am sure the police know and have interviewed whoever he spoke to. But of interest is that Jacques phone was at the crime scene but off, only to be switched on the following day at 9:50

Jowie killed to get money and Maribe was happy compe was eliminated.

Sad.

I expect Jackies lawyer to insist on a separate trial. Otherwise lets expect more sour grapes Itumbi poems for the next 3 years.

How do you know Monica's phone was at the crime scene, though switched off?

I am sure you meant Jackie. We have a lot to learn about technology. I was told by a knowledgeable fellow that switching off a cellphone doesn't protect it from tracking. Something called internal bios or something like that remains powered on in the background. That is why you don't need to reset the time and date when you switch back on.

A smart phone isn't really off even when you switch it off. There is even some ways of switching the phone on remotely. If you want to be safe use a mulika mwizi. When you switch it off and take out the battery, its really off.

The trial will go on daily? For how long?

Is Jackie really heavy with child?Looks like it was a joke/lie.If she is then she is due soon and that may hold the case for sometime.

Poor Jowie.

Yap i meant Jackie - thanks. I watch abit of criminal investigation. To say precisely it was at the crime scene is overboard considering that is an apartment. That is my concern. Proving such things would be difficult and defense team can always bank on such small issues.

@Angel,

In another thread or in an earlier post on this thread, we discussed on how smartphones sell us out.

An area of coverage is divided into cells (hence cell phone) which is covered by a base transmitter station (BTS) These stations are divided in 3 sectors each covering a 120degree area. So a mobile operator can narrow down to what sector your phone is pinging the BTS from and based on timing an approximate location from BTS can be calculated. NOTE: As your phone enters a cell it connects to a BTS and time is recorded..as you leave that you also leave a timestamp. Advanced techniques such as RF fingerprinting (RF=Radio Frequency) can be used to point out where a cell phone is in cases where there are obstacles or in this case indoors.

Am wondering if Maribe was not with Jowie did she give him her phone to walk around with it? Many unanswered questions

But Jackie was said to have been at some pub in Westlands where Jowie picked her later in the night? How could she have been at the scene of crime?

https://www.standardmedi...838682_1919132678165165

Quote:
Investigators claim from Monica’s house, Irungu drove, still dressed in the blood-stained Kanzu, to the house in Langata’s Royal Park estate where Maribe lives.
He took a shower, changed clothes and grabbed the bloodstained clothing alongside some items detectives are yet to establish.

Carrying a matchbox and paraffin, Irungu is then said to have walked out of the house to a far corner within the compound, and burnt the items.
Maribe’s house-help, who was in the house, reportedly corroborated this account during her interrogation.

After burning the items, Irungu then drove to a club in Westlands where Maribe was.
Maribe had apparently on that Wednesday night left her workplace and driven to the club.
Witnesses said Irungu arrived at the club at about 2.30am in the company of about seven men. He picked Maribe and they went home early on September 20.

Police believe Irungu confided to Maribe what had happened the previous night.
This is the reason they decided to arrest her.

Maribe told police she never knew Monica. She said she even read the news of the death and discovery of Monica’s body on the night it happened.

There was a man (not Jowie) living in Monica's house. Is he the killer?

Itumbi must have dropped baby Mama in 2018 right about the time Maribe became 'available' with arrest of Jowi according to below story: <Link>

“He ended the relationship in August 2018 when the lady informed him that she was pregnant with his child. She successfully delivered a baby girl on June 14, this year,” lawyer Dulo said.

One year is a long time. Itumbi got a girl pregnant, Monica Kimani + Jowi + Maribe happened, baby born and now He is in court for child support.
