This was supposed to be the next CEO.... Until the plan was scuttled.

On 29 May 2019, she resigned as CEO of Flybe, with her departure taking effect on 15 July of the same year. The move came folowing recurring financial problems in the company, which will be taken over by Connect Airways, a consortium of Virgin Atlantic, Stobart Air and a US investor.

So Sebastian was/is supposed to remain to work on the nationalisation deal as this lady became CEO....

Is she competent?

No. She failed to turnaround Flybe as per the link. Sailing in the same boat with Sebastian.

Nuh...That Flybe is a shit low cost carrier...Look at the planes they have...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flybe

Now this is why Hellen was suspended...Rem there is supposed to be a lead time of 6 months before the new CEO is appointed that time has lapsed we only have 3 months to go...Actually 2 ...Guess who is supposed to be Acting CEO in this scenario? Hellen ...

She refused to sign off on 3 deals...

(i) Ursula Silling wants some ERP system that was purchased just last year at a cost of 4m to be changed ...She handpicked the vendor and the cost for the new one is 20m ...Hellen refused to sign off on this.

(ii) KQ has a contract with HP ...actually they just got new HP laptops for most of the staff the other day ...Clare Ward wanted it to be changed to Dell for no reason at all extra cost for to the company for no use.She refused to sign off on this also...

(iii) The last one is interesting... An overhaul of the contact centre so a new contract on the same ... The wazungus manipulated the process and the vendor who was 3rd was supposed to get the contract... The vendor comes from a company connected to Clare.

As usual give it a few you will read this in the dailies ...Rotten company this one.

The cat is out of the bag. I also think the contract with GE to do flight analytics is suspect and must be Clare who connected them.

All these Wazungus need to go. I was thinking this Helen is incompetent but can now tell who are the incompetent fellows.

MJ also need to go as I am very sure he approved the suspension of Hellen.

We need action from KALPA asap. KQ is a total mess.

Kenya Airways chairman calls for professional board after nationalisation

Kenya Airways (KQ) must avoid picking a board packed with politically connected individuals after it is re-nationalised in order to ensure future success, its chairman said on Tuesday.
KQ chairman Michael Joseph said the requirement for professionals to be put in charge of the airline is being built into draft laws that will guide the renationalisation.

“It must be run in a commercial way,” he told reporters on the sidelines of an aviation meeting.

“We do not want to create a situation that we had before, where you nationalise the airline and all it becomes is a department of government. The board of directors is loaded by friends of politicians.”
Kenya wants to emulate countries like Ethiopia, which runs air transport assets – from airports to fueling operations – under a single company, using funds from the more profitable parts to support others.

Under the model approved by lawmakers, Kenya Airways will become one of four subsidiaries in an Aviation Holding Company.

The others will be Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), the country’s biggest airport, an aviation college and Kenya Airports Authority, which will operate all the nation’s other airports.

Exactly. Patriotic people should blow the whistle. @ Lolest, what are you talking about ? Are you a fool?

KQ should not be making a loss. Mismanagement of the finances is the order of the day and the management shifts the blame to non-issues such as pilots and other unionisable staff. Why should the HR director not sit down with KAWU and negotiate the CBA. Why should the IT director make such decisions where the Company will loose million of shillings.

Taking KQ back to State is fine, but why the official opacity?
https://www.nation.co.ke...77066-2egcf1/index.html
>>> Seems the nationalisation of KQ is just a matter of time.

"...a Bill implementing the nationalisation plan was at an advanced stage of drafting and would be tabled in the House together with others in what is called an “omnibus amendment Bill” next month."

"Inexplicably, the task of communicating the complex processes and transactions that must be implemented as part of execution has been left to the chair of the Transport Committee of Parliament, David Psoking, who is not famous for deep domain knowledge and experience in the investment banking and complex debt restructuring area. There’s extreme rot at various staff cadres within KQ. Both low and high. Of course there are some good staff but we must acknowledge that there is a bad culture generally

There is nothing called long term in NSE.

Just note KQ in a span of 10years: from 200.00 to 2bob. Wonders never cease.
